Grant And Scholarship Application Process

Who Qualifies?

The Foundation provides both scholarships for individuals and grants to agencies.

Scholarships:

The Foundation seeks to "fan into flame" the gifts (passions, abilities and talents) of students seeking scholarship aid. These individuals are generally pursuing degrees at the college or graduate level. Applicants who are given priority are students:

who profess a genuine faith in God and seek, through additional training, to address the needs of families today
who have demonstrated a pattern of volunteer service in their church or community
who are residents of western Washington, with secondary consideration given to residents of California, Colorado and Hawaii

Grants:

The Foundation also seeks to support non-profit organizations. Applicants that are given priority are agencies:

who are faith-based AND/OR who actively seek volunteer participation from the faith community
who are seeking to address the needs of families in their community
who operate in western Washington, with secondary consideration given to agencies operating in Arizona, California, Colorado and Hawai'i.

How to Apply?

If you or your agency believe that you may qualify for a scholarship or grant it is simple to apply. An individual or agency initiates the process by sending a one page letter to the Foundation via the mail or email. The letter should be addressed to Mr. Jamie Bohnett / Bohnett Memorial Foundation / 7981 168th Ave. NE Suite 220 / Redmond WA 98052. Or emailed to Jnbohnett@aol.com . This letter should include:

1. An introduction of the individual or organization
2. A summary of the agency's program or degree program
3. The total amount of the funds that are needed for the program
4. How this program will help achieve your organization's mission or assist you furthering your personal goals.

Other Information You Should Know

The Foundation will make every effort to respond to every request to respond to every request that falls within its geographical guidelines. The applicant will either receive an application form or a brief description of why the candidate is not eligible for a scholarship or grant at this time. The scholarship and grant range is generally from $1,000 to $1,500.

Generally, scholarships are provided on a one-time basis and agencies who receive grants are asked to re-apply at least one full year after receipt of a grant. Decisions are made in March, June, September and December.
